Quanser Demo

Experimental setups from Quanser have been used in research and teaching at our institute for several years. Due to the simple design, the experiments can be put into operation even without a deeper understanding of the technical functionality. In addition, the retrieval of sensor data and the control of the actuators via Matlab/Simulink is very intuitive, which is beneficial for the use in student internships and theses.

In the civil engineering Bachelor and Master, we’re using the Shake Table I-40 together with the Mola Structural Kits 1 and 2, to teach basic concepts of structural dynamics and earthquake engineering.
We’re also able to quickly build simple models to compare the behavior under static and dynamic conditions.
This is really appreciated by the students of the University of Applied Sciences and Arts of Southern Switzerland!

Der Grund, dass noch weitere Anlagen gekauft worden sind, ist, dass die Einbindung der Sensoren und das Einlesen der Eingangsgrößen in den jeweiligen Simulink-Dateien sehr gut ist und somit der Entwurf einer Regelung recht einfach erfolgen kann. Dies halte ich für sehr nützlich, da alle Anlagen bei uns für didaktische Labor-Versuche oder als Thema für Bachelor- oder Masterarbeiten eingesetzt werden, wo die Studenten selbst arbeiten.

Wir nutzen die Produkte der Firma Quanser in der Mechatronik-Ausbildung, sowohl im Bachelor- als auch im Masterbereich.
Unsere Hauptanwendung ist die Echtzeiterweiterung QUARC; die nahtlose Integration in Matlab/Simulink ist ein Alleinstellungsmerkmal dieses Produkts. Daneben nutzen wir diverse I/O-Karten und Versuchsaufbauten, die sich durch leichte Bedienbarkeit, sehr gute Dokumentation und ein robustes Design auszeichnen.

Bei der Auswahl von Laborversuchen für Lehrveranstaltungen im Bereich mechatronischer Systeme mit dem Schwerpunkt modellgestützter Regelungs- und Steuerentwurf habe ich mich vor über 10 Jahren für Quanser entschieden. Die Philosophie von Quanser, die sich unter anderem im modularen Aufbau der Versuchsstände und der Verwendung von Standardprogrammen (Matlab/Simulink und LabView) für die Messwerterfassung und Steuerung äußert, war ein entscheidender Grund dafür. Ich habe diese Entscheidung nicht bereut.

In our study programme Technical Logistics Management, we teach basic knowledge from the fields of technology, business administration and applied computer science. In order to convey technical content to the students in a clear way, we use, among other things, the demonstrators from the Quanser company. The demonstrators are quick to set up and dismantle, transportable and flexible so that they can be expanded. In addition, the good integration in MATLAB/Simulink and the system models and exercise materials supplied make it very easy for us to use them for courses.
